Film is widely recognised as a fantastically useful media for teaching and learning – so the recent launch of a new, UK-wide film learning programme, Into Film, is great news for schools. Working with the education sector, film industry, and arts and cultural organisations, Into Film will deliver an ambitious and inclusive ‘See, Think, Make. Imagine’ programme that seeks to make a step change in film learning for 5-19 year-olds, encouraging and enabling watching, making and critical understanding of movies on a scale never before seen in the UK.
Available to every school in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, Into Film aims to provide all young people, regardless of their background or ability, with opportunities to learn through and about film. Training and resources will be provided for teachers, too; discover more at Intofilm.org.
