The charity Music for All teams up with sponsor Rockschool to offer free taster music lessons to members of the public, in participating venues across the UK. In 2014, 117 venues put on events ranging from music shops to music services and even churches! People who have never played and people who used to play, all came on the day to try an instrument and eventually 10,000 free lessons took place.
This year, Music for All aims to replicate (and improve upon!) the success of Learn to Play Day, with the support of their ambassadors Jools Holland, Aled Jones, Rick Astley, Al Murray, and more. Look out for an exclusive feature with Al Murray in the new issue of Teach Secondary magazine, in which he discusses his school days and lifelong passion for playing the drums.
