An independent social research charity has built a free online quiz for schools based on the British Social Attitudes Survey
NatCen Social Research has created an online interactive quiz for secondary school pupils with funding from the Economic and Social Research Council, as a gesture of thanks to all the schools who have taken part in NatCen’s educational research.
The quiz, which is based on the robust British Social Attitudes survey, asks students to estimate public opinion on a range of current issues, from trust in politicians to the benefits system.
Ideas for lessons have also been provided for teachers of Sociology, Politics & Government, Citizenship and General Studies.
Teachers who piloted the quiz liked that
· its design is engaging and instructions are clearly worded
· it asks interesting questions that will get pupils thinking
· it encourages healthy competition by using multiple choice questions and allowing pupils to compare results.
