Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual equality charity are asking you to celebrate LGBT History Month by sharing your most defining moments from the journey it’s made thus far.
Over 700 schools and local authorities have been sent LGBT History Month packs by Stonewall – which you can download for your school here: http://www.stonewall.org.uk/at_school/education_for_all/quick_links/education_events/10687.asp
You can learn more about the historical plight for LGBT equality by visiting www.stonewall25.org.uk. You can also share your own personal stories, and read those of others, on the same site.
Ruth Hunt, CEO said ‘LGBT History month provides a wonderful opportunity to stop and reflect on how far we’ve come. The gay pubs that provide us with a space to be ourselves, the small groups of people who come together for a common cause, the groups that serve our local communities and the thousands upon thousands of individuals who’ve worked together to achieve change. Our movement is built on strong foundations which will serve us well in the battles to come.’
Stonewall will host a live Twitter Q&A from 18:30 on Tuesday 17 February to mark LGBTHM, where the charity will be sharing archival material and asking supporters to share their most treasured memories.
